How to Program Dish Network Remote with Codes

To program your Dish Network remote using codes, follow the steps below:

  1. Press and Hold the Device Mode Button

Choose the appropriate mode, such as TV, DVD, or AUX, and continue for about 3 seconds. Release it when all other mode buttons illuminate.

  2. Enter a 3-Digit Code for Your Device

Use the remote's number pad to input a code listed for your device. When programming a code into AUX mode, enter an additional digit before the device code: 0 for a second TV, 1 for a DVD/VCR, or 2 for a tuner, amplifier, audio receiver, or cable TV box.

  3. Press and Release the Pound (#) Button

A valid code causes the mode button backlight to blink three times.

  4. Test the Code

Press the Power button to check whether the device responds. If it turns off, turn it back on and test other buttons to verify that they function correctly, as the Power button may work even when other functions do not. If the code does not work, repeat the procedure with another code from the code tables.
